PURPOSE
Assist the Supervisor with the daily operation of all wastewater treatment works in all physical activities. To maintain good housekeeping and safe working environment and to ensure compliance with the water use licence conditions, National Water Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Repair and maintain pneumatic pipelines. Install and removal of motors, pumps, valves and pipe work. Unblocking of sludge pipelines on belt press machines, sewer pipelines and pumps within the boundary of the process plant. Repair, maintain and replacing screens, screw press. Alignment of pumps, motors, gearboxes, screw pumps, sprockets and pulleys. Maintain and repair of boilers, compressors and digester plant. Maintenance on mechanical equipment of the settling tanks. Repair and replace of steel, UPVC, and HDPE pipelines and sections.

Essential qualifications and experience:
- Grade 10 or N1 (NQF2)+ relevant trade test certificate

PURPOSE
Ensure that all meters are read accurately and consistently with a high level of integrity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately read water meters as per meter reading route. Accurately locate the relevant water meter using the meter number to verify its validity. Capture the water meter information, i.e. meter number, readings and dials onto the handheld device on site, as well as manually on spread sheets. Assess the meter / faults and bring the appropriate code back to line management. Identify new meters and / or change meters. Read meters that are not on the meter reading route. Plan route from start to finish. Ensure that all meters on the assigned route are read. Refer customer to correct centre / department, e.g. City of Johannesburg. Read meters in presence of customer. Communicate with customer about the read meter and the queries thereof.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Essential qualifications and experience:
- Matric (NQF 4)
- 2 years’ experience in meter reading in the municipal billing environment.
- Must have sound knowledge of the meter reading processes.

OPERATIONS MANAGER – REF: OTM- JW359/2022
REMUNERATION: R389 727.24 BASIC SALARY PER ANNUM
PURPOSE
To supervise the security contract through accepted audit and control mechanisms at depots and sites according to Johannesburg Water security standards. Investigate any anomalies and breaches of security.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete and monitor complaints/allegation book on a daily basis to achieve effective allocation and closure. Check all documentation relating to complaints/investigations on a weekly basis to ensure progress and compliance to timeframes. In addition to the daily allocation of inspections, plot route forms for planned inspections of all manned and unmanned installations. Verify inspections undertaken at installations by checking and signing occurrence books on an ad-hoc basis. Attend meetings with operational line managers as and when required to address complaints, security requirements and private security company issues. Advise line managers on immediate security requirements/measures at installations e.g. fencing, lights. Compile complaints/allegations received (number, type and completion rate) from occurrence books. Compile statistics on various other functions e.g. number of armed escorts, number and type of fines issued to private security companies, amount of km’s travelled by Security Officers and general HR statistics such as leave and overtime. Attend weekly meetings with Operational Managers of private security companies to address problems identified by Security Officers, penalties received, discipline of guards, shortpostings etc. Collect and assess weekly report security companies and report to the Manager: Security for any remedial action required. Conduct ad-hoc site inspections on private security companies to check adherence to contractual requirements. Allocate duties to Security Officers on a daily basis according to priority and workload e.g. installation inspections, escort, private security checks. Inspect occurrence books on a daily basis to ensure completion and closure of jobs allocated. Monitor vehicle usage and allocation on a weekly basis by, for e.g. ensuring that proper logbooks are kept. Monitor fine books to ensure accuracy of fines issued. Monitor weekly usage of ammunition by Security Officers.

- Grade 12 (NQF 4). Firearm competent; SIRA level B
- 3 years experience in Public Safety and Security — Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
