LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER TRAINING (PEACE OFFICER TRAINING) 2023



Applications are hereby invited from interested individuals with enthusiasm for the following youth development opportunity:
This initiative is presented by the Municipal Youth Desk section in collaboration with the Department of Community Safety. The Department of Community Safety is offering an opportunity for unemployed youth to be trained as Peace Officers to enhance the law enforcement capacity within the local municipal area. The peace officer training is an accredited course and the duration of the course is 30 days. The department will cover the cost of the training for 20 qualifying participants and also provide a twelve-month EPWP contract after successfully completing the training programme.

 



The criteria for the training opportunity are as follows:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
• Matric certificate (no statement of results)
• Clear criminal record
• Aged between 18-35
• ID book/card
• Shortlisted candidates will undergo a diagnostic test conducted by the Cape Town Metro Police Training department and if successful, will qualify for the training programme.

 



DIRECTION TO CANDIDATES:
All applications must be completed on the prescribed municipal Application Form. All applications must be accompanied by a Cover Letter, certified copies of qualifications, ID document, and a stamped Vetting certificate or a normal clearance certificate from the South African Police Services. Failure to submit relevant documentation will disqualify your application.

Completed applications, clearly marked: PEACE OFFICER TRAINING 2023 should be handed in Municipal Main Building in Clyde Street, Karatara, Rheenendal, Brackenhill & Smutsville libraries or email to: youthdesk@knysna.gov.za . This is the only email address that will accept applications.
Please note: Correspondence will ONLY be entered into with selected candidates. Should candidates not be contacted within a month after the closing date, they may accept their application as unsuccessful.



CLOSING DATE: 21 April 2023



Applicants may use their receipts for the Criminal clearance as a reference in their application process as proof. However, should they be shortlisted the certificate should be provided.
The Municipality reserves the right not to make an appointment.
