<p><span><b><u>REQUIREMENTS</u></b></span></p>
<p><span>-Basic Literacy or Grade 10. &#8211; Grade 12 (added advantage). &#8211; Valid Driver’s License (added advantage). &#8211; Excellent interpersonal &; communication skills (must be bilingual). &#8211; Ability to follow &; execute given instructions. &#8211; Good physical health, basic skill &; know how of doing physical work. &#8211; A hard-working self-disciplined person. – 0 to 1 year relevant experience in general work.</span></p>

<p><span><b><u>DUTIES</u></b></span></p>
<p><span>-Performs litter control and any other general labour consistent with operating a waste disposal facility. &#8211; General upkeep of landfill and operations. &#8211; Help at recycling centre when needed. &#8211; Assist spotters with directing and controlling landfill traffic. &#8211; Assists customers and the public in waste disposal. &#8211; Picks up metal and any other sharp objects to reduce exposure to customer flat tires. &#8211; </span></p>

<p><span>Responsible to store equipment in a safe manner, after completion of the duty to ensure safe up-keeping of the protective clothes in use during work. &#8211; Responsible to clean and remove weeds on the pavements. &#8211; Responsible for loading and off-loading of materials and equipment of the section as and when required. &#8211; Refuse removal from households. &#8211; Sweeping of streets, sidewalks, taxi and bus ranks. &#8211; Picking of litter along the streets and main roads, including public open spaces. &#8211; Removal of building rubbles from public places. &#8211; Empty streets and public dustbins. &#8211; Cleaning of rubbish in front of building, street, taxi and bus ranks, open space. </span></p>

<p><span>&#8211; Cleaning of municipal buildings and facilities. &#8211; Perform any other duties within waste management section as may be delegated by the supervisor /manager. &#8211; Execution of all legal instructions from the supervisor to ensure productivity and smooth running of the section. -Do any work with or garden tools on sport fields, flowerbeds, pavements etc. to create a clean and tidy environment. -Use garden tools to clean areas when machines are out of order or during winter months. </span></p>

<p><span>-Clean parks and cemeteries, clinics, libraries, sports centres, depots and other municipal facilities and buildings and perform other general works necessary. -Put out traffic signs to warn traffic and persons about workers next to municipal roads, islands, pavements, open spaces etc. -Responsible for loading and off-loading of solid waste material and equipment of the section. -Execution of all legal instructions from the supervisor to ensure productivity and smooth running of the section. -Reports any injury/loss sustained while working to the supervisor to ensure prompt attendance and safety of the working area of responsibility. -Perform any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management (supervisor) from time to time.</span></p>
