<p><strong>The City of Johannesburg (Pikitup) invites interested and suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position X500 General Workers for various locations.</strong></p>

<p><strong>Position: General Worker X500</strong><br />
<strong>Remuneration: R9 531,55 pm (basic salary excluding benefits)</strong><br />
<strong>Department: Operations</strong><br />
<strong>Location: Various Depots</strong><br />
<strong>Reporting to: Team Leader</strong></p>
<p> ;</p>
<p><strong>Purpose:</strong><br />
<strong>To carry out relevant cleaning and/or refuse bin delivery related tasks. These tasks can include any one or more of Street Cleaning, Stacking, Sweeping, Lane Flushing, Carcass Removal and/or Bin Deliveries.</strong></p>
<p> ;</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong><br />
<strong>✓ Street cleaning and sweeping;</strong><br />
<strong>✓ Clean all bins</strong><br />
<strong>✓ Wear protective clothing at all times</strong><br />
<strong>✓ Draw out the correct number of bags from the store and distribute them accordingly;</strong><br />
<strong>✓ Distribute bags to consumers according to services;</strong><br />
<strong>✓ Collect refuse bags and place them on the trolley for stacking;</strong><br />
<strong>✓ Clear all spillage when bag breakage occurs;</strong><br />
<strong>✓ Collect new/replacement bins from central stores and load them on to the bin delivery truck;</strong></p>
<p> ;</p>
<p><strong>✓ Offload new/replacement refuse bins at place of delivery;</strong><br />
<strong>✓ Ensure that customers sign for the delivery and are issued with a copy of delivery receipt;</strong><br />
<strong>✓ Liaise with members of the public, service users and officials of other departments, ensuring prompt resolution of complaints and queries;</strong><br />
<strong>✓ Report all incidences relating to safety, equipment and injuries to the team leader;</strong><br />
<strong>✓ Ensure daily tasks are completed;</strong><br />
<strong>✓ Perform any other tasks as may be delegated by the supervisor</strong></p>

<p><strong>Minimum Requirements</strong><br />
<strong>✓ Grade 10;</strong><br />
<strong>✓ 12 months cleaning/ general work experience;</strong><br />
<strong>✓ No criminal record;</strong><br />
<strong>✓ Must be physically and mentally fit;</strong><br />
<strong>✓ Must be a South African residing within the City of Johannesburg.</strong></p>

<p><strong>Knowledge/ Skills/ Behaviours</strong><br />
<strong>✓ Knowledge of relevant company procedures;</strong><br />
<strong>✓ Understanding of relevant legislation</strong><br />
<strong>✓ Knowledge of relevant tools, equipment and procedures;</strong><br />
<strong>✓ Ability to follow instructions;</strong><br />
<strong>✓ Ability to prioritize and execute tasks as assigned;</strong><br />
<strong>✓ Ability to work both independently and in a team orientated environment.</strong></p>
