an NQF level 4 qualification plus 1-year experience in Community Development Work&period; Competencies&colon; Knowledge and understanding of community dynamics&comma; community activation &lpar;mobilisation&rpar;&comma; ward boundaries&comma; social awareness&comma; community education&comma; public participation and community development&semi; Knowledge of government regulations and policies including but not limited to&colon; Monitor and report significant trends within communities related to health&comma; social development&comma; and livelihood security as well as the impact of associated development projects&semi; Compile accurate environmental scans&semi; Identify and present to the Assistant Director proper records&sol;data of households&comma; cases referred&comma; and service points visited in line with the work plans and performance contracts agreed upon&semi; <&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Develop and maintain a database &lpar;electronic or hard copy&rpar; on all interventions e&period;g&period; referrals&comma; remedial actions taken or changes in systems to improve service delivery&semi; Report on outcomes and issues escalated&semi; Present daily and weekly performance reports to the Assistant Director within agreed timelines&semi; Conduct regular research on all relevant policies and legislation to stay abreast of new developments&semi; Consult and participate with the Gateway electronic portal and other information sources such as Government Online for information on services and opportunities&semi; Conduct regular information sharing sessions with other community workers&comma; institutions and stakeholders&semi; Initiate networks with government departments and agencies&comma; and other community development stakeholders to source relevant information&semi; Contribute towards the strengthening of Inter-government collaboration&semi; <&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Liaise with local communities and stakeholders for improved service delivery and development&semi; Link up with existing programmes of various departments and community workers and practitioners&semi; Participate on planned public participation initiatives &lpar;IDP&comma; Ward Committees&comma; Feedback Meetings&comma; Ntirhisano etc&rpar;&semi; Cooperate with government departments to plan in accordance to community asset and needs&semi; Participate in ward based planning structures for the implementation of government programmes and activities and report on functionality of ward based plans&semi; Activate individuals&comma; communities and structures to participate in localised democratic processes&semi; <&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Apply the ABCD as a technique to trigger community-led development&semi; Initiate and support community asset profiling&semi; Identify community assets and categorise them according to support required&semi; Identify&comma; monitor and support the existing local projects and programmes on sustainable community development and identify support required&semi; Provide a progress report on socio-economic activities initiated and supported&semi; Report any irregularities and progress to the authorities and CoGTA&semi; Disseminate information to communities on services rendered by government departments and other stakeholders for sustainable developmental purposes&semi;
