
African Marine Solutions Trainee Mooring Master / Discharge Advisor

We’re looking for a Mooring Master / Discharge Advisor who has the skills, competence and experience required to strengthen our value proposition, and who is looking for an opportunity to join a dynamic organisation. The role involves SPM, STS, and CBM/MBM Operations, focusing on the transfer of crude oil, LPG/LNG, and clean fuel products. It will provide services to the AMSOL Group across our operational areas, with a primary focus on Mossel Bay.
Duties & Responsibilities
Liaise with all parties involved in the mooring and unmooring of tankers at the Mossel Bay SPM managed by AMSOL.
Ensure the safe mooring and unmooring of tankers to the Mossel Bay Single Buoy Mooring (SPM).
Ensure the safe discharge of product at the SPM; and management of any emergencies that may arise.
Active management of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality as an integral component of the function.

Additional support to AMSOL Group:STS Operations – (offshore and in-port).
Support MBM / CBM Operations.
Available to support AMSOL marine operations across the region.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Valid Chief Mate (Unlimited) Certificate of Competency.
Valid unrestricted SAMSA Medical.
Has preferably accumulated enough sea time to obtain Masters (Unlimited) Certificate of Competency.
Dangerous Cargo Endorsement – Management Level for Oil / Chemical / Gas.
Effective communication in English – both written and verbal.
Computer literacy.
The ability to work independently within a team.
Familiarity with SPM operations is an advantage.
A valid drivers license with own transport.
Flexibility to travel on short notice.
