Description: 

AHRI is looking for a Project Coordinator who will be based within the Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of a clinical trial conducted at AHRI-Durban by overseeing study logistics, ensuring protocol adherence, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The clinical trial will focus on evaluating the efficacy and safety of a shortened treatment regimen for tuberculosis in paediatric patients. The incumbent will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the clinical trial by ensuring that all aspects of a trial—from recruitment to data collection to analysis—are handled in an efficient and effective manner.

The successful candidate will be able to juggle multiple tasks at once, manage competing demands on their time, and prioritize effectively when necessary. They will also need strong communication skills to interact with all members of the clinical trial team, including researchers, doctors, nurses and participants.

Minimum Qualifications

1. BSc degree or equivalent required, preferably in Life Sciences

2. Computer Literacy

3. Valid driver’s license. Must be a confident driver

4. Fluency in English

 

Minimum Experience

1. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in clinical research

2. A minimum of 2-3years’ experience coordinating a project and supervising junior staff members.
