<p><strong>POST: Heavy Duty Truck Drivers: (Constable)</strong><br />
<strong>LOCATION: Visible Policing and Operations, External Deployment and Mobilisation </strong><strong>Support, Pretoria</strong><br />
<strong>LEVEL OF REMUNERATION: (Band A) R226 188 per annum</strong><br />

<p> ;</p>
<p><strong>Generic Requirements:</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Applicants must display competency in the post-specific core functions of the post;</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Be fluent in at least two of the official languages, of which one must be English;</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Be in possession of a Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or National Certificate (Vocational)</strong><br />
<strong>recorded on the National Learner Record Database on NQF level 4;</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Be in possession of at least a valid driver’s license;</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Be a South African Citizen;</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Must have no previous criminal / departmental convictions or criminal / departmental cases</strong><br />
<strong>pending;</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Must not have any tattoo marks which will be visible when wearing any uniform of the</strong><br />
<strong>Service;</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Applicants will be subjected to a vetting process which will include security screening and</strong><br />
<strong>fingerprint verification;</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Applicants must have interpersonal communication (verbal and written);</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Be able to work under pressure as well as extended hours.</strong><br />
<strong>Additional Post Requirements:</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Have at least 3-4 years driving experience;</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Be in possession of code EB, C1, C, EC1 and EC driver’s license as well as Public Drivers</strong><br />
<strong>Permit.</strong></p>
<p> ;</p>
<p><strong>Core Functions:</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Ensure the administration of armoured vehicle fleet;</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Ensure the administration of operational vehicle fleet;</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Manage and coordinate transport support;</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Ensure the transportation of vehicles, equipment and personnel nationally;</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Prepare and pack vehicles for transport purposes as per requests of clients;</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Ensure the loading and off-loading of equipment/vehicles;</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Ensure the proper inspection and maintenance of vehicles;</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Report losses or any damages on vehicles;</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Assist with the formulating of policy and standard instructions and procedures relating to the</strong><br />
<strong>mobilisation of the allocated vehicle fleet.</strong></p>
<p> ;</p>
<p><strong>ï· Ensuring compliance of National Instruction 4 of 2011, State Vehicles and National</strong><strong> Instruction 2 of 2022, Armoured Vehicles;</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Manage the registration, certification and utilisation of the vehicle fleet allocated to </strong><strong>Mobilisation Support;</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Manage the maintenance of the allocated vehicle fleet of Mobilisation Support;</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Provide performance and implementation reports on activities of the Specialised Fleet to the </strong><strong>Section Head: Mobilisation Support for inclusion in the Annual Report of the SAPS;</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Ensure adherence to the Minimum Information Security Standards (MISS).</strong><br />
<strong>General:</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Only the official application form (available on the SAPS website (www.saps.gov.za) and at</strong><br />
<strong>SAPS Police Stations) will be accepted. The Z83 previously utilized will no longer be</strong><strong> accepted. All instructions on the application form must be adhered to. Failure to do so may</strong><strong> result in the rejection of the application. The SAPS application forms can also be obtained </strong><strong>from any SAPS Recruitment Office within the South African Police Service.</strong></p>

<p><strong>ï· The post particulars and reference number of the post must be correctly specified on the</strong><br />
<strong>application form.</strong><br />
<strong>ï· A comprehensive Curriculum Vitae as well as uncertified copies of an applicant’s ID, Senior</strong><br />
<strong>Certificate and all educational qualifications obtained, service certificates of previous</strong><strong> employers stating the occupation, proof of relevant experience in the field of the post and</strong><strong> motor vehicle driver’s license must be submitted together with the application form.</strong><br />
<strong>ï· Original documentations of short-listed candidates must be produced during the selection</strong><br />
<strong>process as requested. Qualifications and driver’s licences submitted will be subjected to </strong><strong>verification checking with the relevant institutions. Late applications will not be accepted or </strong><strong>considered.</strong><br />
<strong>ï· If a candidate is short-listed, it can be expected of him/her to undergo a personal interview</strong><strong> as well as a practical assessment. Reference checking will be conducted on all short-listed </strong><strong>candidates.</strong></p>
<p><strong>ï· Short-listed candidates for appointment to certain identified posts, will be vetted in terms</strong><strong> of the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and Related Matters) Amendment Act, 2007 (Act No </strong><strong>32 of 2007) and the Children’s Act, 2005 (Act No 38 of 2005). A candidate whose particulars </strong><strong>appear in either the National Register for Sex Offenders or Part B of the Child Protection</strong><strong> Register, will be disqualified from appointment to that post.</strong><br />

<strong>ï· Applicants appointed under the Police Service Act will be subjected to undergo a lateral </strong><strong>entry programme at a SAPS Academy &; Training Centre and will be expected to qualify as </strong><strong>competent and to maintain such competency throughout his or her service, by the employee </strong><strong>to possess and use of a firearm(s) as required by the SAPS.</strong><br />
