<p><strong>The Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality’s Public Safety Department (JMPD) warmly invites all young individuals aged 18 to 35 to apply for the Training Programme and embark on a journey to become Metropolitan Police Officers.</strong></p>

<p><strong>Position: Metro Police Trainees</strong></p>

<p><strong>The City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality, Public Safety Department (JMPD) is embarking on a training programme and successful applicants will undergo intense training where they will have an opportunity to become Metropolitan Police Officers.</strong></p>

<p><strong>REQUIREMENTS</strong></p>
<p><strong>The Applicant must:</strong></p>
<p><strong>be a South African citizen.</strong></p>
<p><strong>be in possession of a valid Senior Certificate (Grade 12 /equivalent NQF Level 4).</strong></p>
<p><strong>be domicile within the jurisdiction of the Johannesburg Metropolitan area (Applicants must provide original proof of residence).</strong></p>
<p><strong>have no criminal conviction/record.</strong></p>
<p><strong>be prepared to allow biometric data and other information to be taken for purposes of checking for a criminal record.</strong></p>
<p><strong>have a Driver’s License (No Learner’s license), minimum Code B.</strong></p>
<p><strong>between the ages of 18 – 35 years.</strong></p>
<p><strong>be physically and mentally fit. (A Comprehensive Medical Certificate must be submitted together with the application).</strong></p>
<p><strong>be able to subject themselves to and successfully complete a pre-training fitness assessment.</strong></p>
<p><strong>have no civil judgment(s) relating to fraud and/or corruption against his/her name.</strong></p>
<p><strong>be prepared to undergo vetting processes.</strong></p>
<p><strong>be proficient in English.</strong></p>
<p><strong>have no objection and be prepared to carry a firearm, and must wear a uniform.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Personal attributes:</strong></p>
<p><strong>The incumbent should be reliable, honest, have the highest sense of justice and integrity, have a positive attitude, be patient, and be able to work under pressure, under all weather conditions and shift hours.</strong></p>

<p><strong>Terms of Training:</strong></p>
<p><strong>Metro Police Trainees will be expected to undergo 18 months of training, and upon successful completion, will be considered for appointment as Metro Police Officers.</strong></p>
<p><strong>For the duration of the training, trainees will be subjected to the terms of training contracts,</strong></p>
<p><strong>Academy rules, and RTMC training policy. Trainees will receive a stipend as per the City’s Policy.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Upon completion of training:</strong></p>
<p><strong>As a Qualified Metropolitan Police Officer, the incumbent must take the oath of office as determined by the Municipality and will be deployed to any area within the City of Johannesburg.</strong></p>
