&NewLine;<p>The University of Cape Town Lung Institute&comma; requires applications for an experienced CASHACCOUNTSCLERK&ast; on a Fixed Term Contract&period; The Lung Institute&comma; situated in George Street&comma; Mowbray&comma; is wholly-owned subsidiary of the University of Cape Town and is recognised internationally as a leader in the study of treatments for airways diseases&comma; having performed more than 150 research projects&period; The main purpose of the Cash Accounts Clerk is to ensure that the business processes regarding the handling of physical cash are followed&comma; as well as those pertaining to online transactions&period; This position will report to the Business and Finance Manager&comma; as well as the Grants Manager&period; Minimum Requirements&colon; 3 years’ experience as a Cash Administrator or in a Cashier Recons and Balancing position&period; Familiar with online banking – preferably Standard Bank&period; Familiar with forex payments –preferably Standard Bank&period; High proficiency with MS Office&comma; in particular Excel&comma; Word and Database Management&period; Knowledge of Accpac would be advantageous&comma; as would ability to use Word Press Attributes &amp&semi; Behaviors&period; High degree of integrity and confidentiality&period; High attention to detail and accuracy&period; Ability to follow processes and procedures&period; Ability to work well under pressure&period; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills –both verbal and written&period; Proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team&period; Team player&period; Responsibilities include &lpar;but not limited to&rpar;&colon; Load payments on banking system to be approved by Accountant and FM &&num;8211&semi; after signed off by operations&period; Ensure all supplier invoices are valid tax invoices and addressed to the correct entity and reflecting the correct VAT number&comma; etc&period; Scan and send payments for authorization&period; When requested&comma; print proof of payment and save on server&period; Prepare requisition &lpar;standard format&rpar; for Accountant sign off and load onto banking system for release by Accountant and Finance Manager&period; Extract a supplier listing on banking system monthly &lpar;Clerk to identify suppliers which are inactive and or which we no longer use&rpar;&period; Prepare payment requisitions -Operations approve before loading on banking system&period; Load payments &lpar;Once payment requisitions are signed off by operations&rpar;&period; Banking of cash &&num;8211&semi; Weekly &lpar;reconciliation to be signed off by Accountant&rpar;&period; Conduct and balance cash-ups&period; Daily cash recons &lpar;Front of office and any other cash held&rpar;&comma; Cash Book Processing &amp&semi; Reconciliations&period; Office admin and office supplies&period; Perform additional duties or responsibilities&comma; which fall reasonably within the ambit of the job description&comma; or in accordance with operational requirements&period; Additional Information&colon; 12-month Fixed Term Contract&period; Applications for both Part-Time and Full-Time will be considered&period; <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;lunginstitute&period;co&period;za&sol;"><&sol;a>To apply&comma; interested applicants are requested to submit a cover letter and updated CV&comma; with two contactable references to&colon; uctlirecruitment&commat;uct&period;ac&period;za&period; Applications will only be accepted via email&period; Telephone&colon; 021406 6882&period; Reference &lpar;in subject line&rpar;&colon; Cash Accounts Clerk&period; Only shortlisted candidates&comma; who respond with the correct reference&comma; will be contacted&period; Should you not receive a response within 30 days of the closing date&comma; please consider your application unsuccessful&period; Closing Date&colon;15 December2021&period; <&sol;p>&NewLine;
