jointly with the Gauteng Department of Health &lpar;DoH&rpar; are implementing the EPWP Health Maintenance Programme across three &lpar;3&rpar; Metropolitans and two &lpar;2&rpar; District Municipalities within Gauteng Province&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<&sol;div>&NewLine;<&sol;div>&NewLine;<div class&equals;"row">&NewLine;<div class&equals;"col text-break">&NewLine;<p>The Youth Health Maintenance Programme is conceived to benefit participants across the Gauteng Province targeting health facilities where young people will be placed in each&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The participants will be paid a stipend rate of R180 per day thus earning R2 160 per month&period; This type of employment will open space for young unemployed graduates&comma; drop-outs from institutions of Higher Learning and where these categories are not available in the locality&comma; a matric pass &lpar;with a matric certificate&rpar; will be made a compulsory requirement&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The program aims&colon;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<ul>&NewLine;<li>To create sustainable labour-intensive work opportunities&period;<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>To create work opportunities for unskilled and unemployed youth&period;<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>To meet the DID objective to sustain employment opportunities and contributing to eradication of poverty&period;<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>To increase the employability and self-sustenance of young people by providing them with skills while they<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>gain work experience or exposure&period;<&sol;li>&NewLine;<&sol;ul>&NewLine;<&sol;div>&NewLine;<&sol;div>&NewLine;<&sol;div>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<div class&equals;"card-detail-body">&NewLine;<div class&equals;"row">&NewLine;<div class&equals;"col text-break">&NewLine;<p><strong>The Health Maintenance programme is scheduled to commence on the 1 February 2023 and will end on the 31 March 2023 a period of 2 months<&sol;strong>&period;  The participants will be employed for 3 days a week translating to 12 to 14 days per monthThis programme is designed for densely populated areas with high unemployment rates&period;  Facilities to be maintained by programme participants are health facilities identified by the Department of Health&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<&sol;div>&NewLine;<&sol;div>&NewLine;<&sol;div>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<div class&equals;"card-detail-body">&NewLine;<div class&equals;"row">&NewLine;<div class&equals;"col text-break">&NewLine;<p><strong>Basic technical maintenance and repairs to health infrastructure such as&colon;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<ul>&NewLine;<li>Repairs of door locks<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Painting<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Closing roof leakages&comma;<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Replacing broken windows<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Health institutions yard maintenance &lpar;grass cutting&comma; gardening&comma; etc&rpar;<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Cleaning of wards and administration building<&sol;li>&NewLine;<&sol;ul>&NewLine;<p>The initial rollout of the programme will only include Items no 5 and 6&comma; the remaining items will be rolled out after the participants are exposed to on-the-job training with the DID maintenance managers on site&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<h2>Role requirement<&sol;h2>&NewLine;<ul>&NewLine;<li>Unemployed Youth between the &lpar;ages 18 &&num;8211&semi;
