<h2>Role description</h2>
<p>The Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development (DID) jointly with the Gauteng Department of Health (DoH) are implementing the EPWP Health Maintenance Programme across three (3) Metropolitans and two (2) District Municipalities within Gauteng Province.</p>

<p>The Youth Health Maintenance Programme is conceived to benefit participants across the Gauteng Province targeting health facilities where young people will be placed in each.</p>
<p>The participants will be paid a stipend rate of R180 per day thus earning R2 160 per month. This type of employment will open space for young unemployed graduates, drop-outs from institutions of Higher Learning and where these categories are not available in the locality, a matric pass (with a matric certificate) will be made a compulsory requirement.</p>
<p>The program aims:</p>
<ul>
<li>To create sustainable labour-intensive work opportunities.</li>
<li>To create work opportunities for unskilled and unemployed youth.</li>
<li>To meet the DID objective to sustain employment opportunities and contributing to eradication of poverty.</li>
<li>To increase the employability and self-sustenance of young people by providing them with skills while they</li>
<li>gain work experience or exposure.</li>

<p><strong>The Health Maintenance programme is scheduled to commence on the 1 February 2023 and will end on the 31 March 2023 a period of 2 months</strong>. The participants will be employed for 3 days a week translating to 12 to 14 days per monthThis programme is designed for densely populated areas with high unemployment rates. Facilities to be maintained by programme participants are health facilities identified by the Department of Health.</p>

<p><strong>Basic technical maintenance and repairs to health infrastructure such as:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Repairs of door locks</li>
<li>Painting</li>
<li>Closing roof leakages,</li>
<li>Replacing broken windows</li>
<li>Health institutions yard maintenance (grass cutting, gardening, etc)</li>
<li>Cleaning of wards and administration building</li>
</ul>
<p>The initial rollout of the programme will only include Items no 5 and 6, the remaining items will be rolled out after the participants are exposed to on-the-job training with the DID maintenance managers on site.</p>
<h2>Role requirement</h2>
<ul>
<li>Unemployed Youth between the (ages 18 &#8211; 35)</li>
<li>Proof of residence</li>
<li>Reside within 5km away</li>
<li>South African Identity Document (ID) copy (Original certified not older than 03 months)</li>
<li>ID size photo</li>
<li>Provide proof of banking details (Bank statement or Letter from the bank)</li>
