<p>The Department of Higher Education and Training (the Department) is participating in the Presidential<br />
Youth Employment Stimulus (PYES) programme, which is a government programme coordinated in<br />
the Presidency. The programme seeks to provide temporary employment opportunities for young<br />
graduates from universities who have not been able to find employment, and also offer opportunities<br />
for graduates to gain useful experience in a range of areas that can improve their readiness for<br />
employment and open up career pathways that may not have been available without work experience.</p>
<p> ;</p>
<p>In response to this call, Reakgona Disability Centre (RDC) hereby invites those who qualify to apply<br />
for Internship positions at the Centre in the following service areas:<br />
• Computer laboratory<br />
• Audio-Braille library<br />
• Braille Section<br />
• Admin office<br />
• Reception<br />
• Orientation and Mobility office<br />
• Occupational Therapist Assistant</p>
<p> ;</p>
<p>The Centre will assign interns to work in the above-mentioned service areas on a fixed-term basis for<br />
a minimum of three months and a maximum of six months. Each graduate placement will receive a<br />
stipend of R5000.00 per month (inclusive) for the duration of their contract.</p>

<p>ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA<br />
1. South African<br />
2. Unemployed Youth (age 18 – 35 years)<br />
3. Graduate from the University of Limpopo<br />
4. Preference will be given to disabled learners where possible<br />
5. Equitable Gender representation</p>

<p>DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES<br />
• Assist RDC in running its projects; more specifically, to ensure that each centre’s service area<br />
into which the successful candidate has been appointed qualitatively serves its clientele.<br />
• NB: The successful candidate must attend the initial training to be arranged by the centre<br />
at the right time to fully qualify for the position. Applicants should be empathetic towards<br />
students with disabilities to allow for a favourable situation that promotes mutuality<br />
between them and these students.</p>
