<p><strong>REQUIREMENTS</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Grade 12 (Proof to be attached)</li>
<li>Valid Level 2 First Aid &; CPR certificate</li>
<li>Valid Lifeguard Certification</li>
<li>Able and willing to undergo fitness and swimming evaluation</li>
<li>Able and willing to undergo 2-minute water treading</li>
<li>Ability to swim 100 meters in under 2 minutes</li>
<li>Communication Skills</li>
<li>Organizational Skills</li>
<li>Sober habits</li>
<li>Good health</li>
<li>Proficient in at least two (2) of the three (3) official languages of the Western Cape</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Maintain continuous surveillance of people in a swimming pool</li>
<li>Ensure an appropriate headcount of people in a swimming pool</li>
<li>Call out warnings to people who may have ventured too far or are in danger</li>
<li>Supervise swimmers to ensure that they are swimming within the safety protocols</li>
<li>Proactively identify hazards or potential hazards and take measures to prevent accidents</li>
<li>Control and report unruly behaviour and individual/s to the supervisor</li>
<li>Immediately provide rescue in the event of drowning or swimming incidents</li>
<li>Perform first aid and CPR when needed</li>

<li>Perform pool chemical checks to ensure safety and hygiene</li>
<li>Maintain accurate records of pool use and chemical levels</li>
<li>Ensure that all pool equipment is stored safely</li>
<li>Assist with preparation of gala’s and other events</li>
<li>Willing to work outside normal working hours</li>
</ul>
