<h1><span>To apply, you need to meet the following inherent requirements:</span></h1>
<p>be in the final year of your undergraduate study</p>
<p>OR a postgrad student in 2024:</p>
<p>be enrolled as a UFS student and be able to provide proof of registration in 2024;</p>
<p>have at least 1 year of tutoring, facilitating, or teaching experience as part of a certified programme.(Tutoring students in your personal capacity in your free time is unfortunately not seen as certified tutorial experience): and</p>
<p>be proficient in English.</p>

<h1>To apply, you need the following competencies:</h1>
<p> ;</p>
<p>excellent communication skills;</p>
<p>Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint), navigating</p>
<p>the internet and Blackboard for facilitating classes;</p>
<p>time management skills;</p>
<p>excellent writing skills in English;</p>
<p>ability to work, independently, as well as in a team;</p>
<p>ability to work respectfully with individuals of all Cultures and backgrounds, perspectives and abilities: and</p>
<p>experience in conducting online and face-to-face classes.</p>

<p>If your application is successful, you will need to avail 25 hours per week (5 hours per day) for this position. You will thus have to find a balance between your studies and work duties/responsibilities as required within this position. Also note that this is not a remote working position, thus you will be required to report to campus for work engagements.</p>
<p>Please note that foreign national students may not work more than 20 hours per week, in accordance with national labour law. The Teaching Assistant appointment on the Bloemfontein campus is <em>a </em>fixed 25 hours per week contract.</p>

<h3><strong>Your duties/responsibilities are as follows:</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>Facilitating online and face-to-face Classes</li>
<li>Marking online assessments (Blackboard)</li>
<li>Reviewing module content</li>
<li>Attending Teaching Assistant training</li>
<li>Attending UFSS1504/1522 webinars</li>
<li>Attending UFSS1504/1522 face-to-face learning experiences.</li>
</ul>
