<p><strong>MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION</strong></p>
<p><strong>To assist in the carrying out the maintenance and repairs of mechanical facilities, in order to ensure the maximum effectiveness of systems.</strong></p>

<p><strong>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p>
<p><strong>MAINTANANCE AND REPAIR</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Provide support and assistance in connection with facilities electrical equipment</strong><br />
<strong>maintenance planning, scheduling and execution</strong></li>
<li><strong>Assist electricians during preventative maintenance, breakdowns and projects</strong></li>
<li><strong>Perform tasks as directed by the Supervisor/ Electrician to assist with site preparation, general maintenance work, installations, inspections, diagnosing faults, testing, repairs, maintenance of electrical equipment, lights, appliances and fixtures and cleaning the work area on completion</strong></li>
<li><strong>As directed by Supervisor/ Electrician assist with storage, lifting, fetching supplies, unloading and checking deliveries. </strong></li>
<li><strong>Liaising with the Supervisor/ Electrician and other employees and performing work in accordance with the agreed requirements and within agreed time frames. </strong></li>
<li><strong>Maintain close working relationship with internal and external clients, in order to ensure optimal delivery on client needs and requirements </strong></li>
<li><strong>Taking responsibility for equipment issued and ensuring that the equipment provided is used in accordance with the training provided </strong></li>
<li><strong>Assist with the identification of defects and or the need for repairs to minimize disruptions to SABC operations due to equipment failures.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Assisting with research on new equipment, technologies and technology trends in order to enhance the efficiencies and effectiveness of SABC technical operations.</strong></li>

<p><strong>INHERENT/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Grade 12, National Certificate in Electrical Engineering, NQF Level 4, or relevant qualification (N3) </strong></li>
</ul>
<p><strong>EXPERIENCE</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>1 year experience as an Electrical Assistant or an Internship.</strong></li>
</ul>
<p> ;</p>
<p><strong>KNOWLEDGE</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Basic knowledge of building electrical systems (Electricity Distribution, Wiring of Installations, MV and LV Switchgears, Standby Generators, Uninterruptible Power Supplies, Lighting, motors etc).</strong></li>
<li><strong>Basic system failure troubleshooting</strong></li>
<li><strong>Must be a team player</strong></li>
<li><strong>Be prepared to work in various environments with different disciplines</strong></li>
<li><strong>Must be prepared to work overtime when required</strong></li>
</ul>
