<p><strong>Job description</strong></p>
<p><strong>Payroll is a support division under the Finance Expenditure department. The division is centralised at the Auckland Park Campus.</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<p><strong>Preparation and processing of payroll input to ensure that salaries are paid.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Review, verify, spot check, and ensure accuracy of approved input.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Processing the Third-party changes and clearing of queries.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Processing of foreign payments, subsistence, and travel claims.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Prepare and submit AP Payments as per required standards.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Responsible for testing systems changes and configurations.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Activates all pre-payments for ad-hoc payments.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Performs any other office Ad-hoc requests from line management.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Assist with Internal/External auditor requests.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Minimum requirements</strong></p>
<p><strong>Diploma or relevant qualification (NQF 6)</strong></p>
<p><strong>Two (2) to three (3) years&#8217; of proven experience in Payroll Administration</strong></p>
<p><strong>Experience in the Oracle System (preferred)</strong></p>
<p><strong>Knowledge of Legislation and Acts relevant to payroll, e.g., Pension Fund, Tax Act</strong></p>
<p><strong>Microsoft Office packages</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong><strong>Competencies and Behavioural Attributes:</strong></p>
<p><strong>Knowledge of Legislation and regulatory acts relevant to payroll.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Extensive knowledge of shift and overtime allowance legislation.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Good computer skills (MS Office Suite and Oracle).</strong></p>
<p><strong>Proven accuracy in numerical capability.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </strong></p>
<p><strong>Provide excellent customer service.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Time management and the ability to work under pressure.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Good understanding of accounting principles. </strong></p>
<p><strong>Knowledge of the Oracle system (preferred).</strong></p>
