<p><strong>CEF SOC</strong></p>
<p><strong>CEF is a Schedule 2 state owned diversified energy company reporting to the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy. The Mandate of CEF is to contribute to the security of energy supply of South Africa and the Region through exploration, acquisition, development, marketing and strategic partnership. It is derived from the CEF Act (No 38 of 1977) and the Ministerial directives issued thereafter.</strong></p>

<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Grade 12</strong></li>
<li><strong>Security Officer Certification (Grade B) plus registration with PSIRA</strong></li>
<li><strong>Grade A (Advantage) or higher Certificate </strong></li>
<li><strong>Computer literacy on MS Office</strong></li>
<li><strong>Driver’s License</strong></li>
<li><strong>First Aid Level 1 (preferred)</strong></li>
<li><strong>Safety or Emergency Response Training (Desirable)</strong></li>
</ul>
<p><strong> Minimum Experience: </strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong><a><span class="text-o-color-5"> 2-3 years’ experience as a security officer at a refinery or manufacturing plant or mining. </span></a></strong></li>

<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Patrol industrial and commercial premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ·ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Answer alarms and investigate disturbances</strong></li>
<li><strong>Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises</strong></li>
<li><strong>Operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering</strong></li>
<li><strong>Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Monitor and adjust controls that regulate building systems, such as air conditioning, furnace</strong></li>
<li><strong>Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form</strong></li>

<li><strong>Ensure effective communication with Supervisors and colleagues</strong></li>
<li><strong>Ensure employees and visitors adhere to Covid-19 regulations when entering the premises</strong></li>
<li><strong>Screen employees and visitors before entering the premises</strong></li>
<li><strong>Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property</strong></li>
<li><strong>Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences</strong></li>
<li><strong>Act as back up to the Receptionist.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Answering and transferring calls</strong></li>
</ul>
