About the Role
The Handling Agent is responsible for supporting daily aircraft ground operations while ensuring compliance with Menzies Aviation’s operating procedures and aviation safety standards.
This position involves preparing aircraft parking bays, assisting with baggage operations, maintaining clean working areas, and supporting aircraft turnaround activities. Employees work closely with other airport teams to ensure flights depart safely and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Following all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Complying with Menzies Aviation operational standards.
- Ensuring equipment is clean and serviceable.
- Reporting accidents, incidents, or safety hazards.
- Assisting in baggage handling operations.
- Cleaning aircraft, offices, hangars, and ablution facilities.
- Loading and offloading baggage and cargo.
- Preparing aircraft parking bays before aircraft arrival.
- Inspecting parking areas for Foreign Object Debris (FOD).
- Maintaining clean parking bays after aircraft departures.
- Delivering excellent service to airline customers and passengers.
Minimum Requirements

- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.

- Knowledge of local aviation regulations and procedures.
- Fluent in English.
- Valid South African driver’s licence will be an added advantage.
