MATJHABENG MUNICIPALITY IS LOOKING FOR PLUMBERS (WATER MAINTENANCE)

(30 POSITIONS)

SALARY :R260 364 – R295 776 p.a (Excluding Benefits)

POST LEVEL: 9

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Trade Test Certificate in plumbing with 1-year relevant experience and driver’s license

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS :

• Specialized maintenance of water and purified effluents reticulation systems, valves and connections as instructed by foreman,with personnel and equipment for services delivery .
• Report and repair all water leaks,with personnel and equipment for services delivery.
• Supervises the excavation of water lines and other network line construction with personnel and equipment safety act
• Transport workers and material to workplaces and back with vehicles for services delivery

• Ensure adherence to act on health on Occupational safety in working environment safety act
• Performs standby duties when instructed with personnel and equipment for services delivery.
• Ensure adherence to and understanding of conditions of services.
• Performs all tasks related to water maintenance with personnel and equipment for services delivery
• In case of personnel shortage and emergency any pipe network maintenance can be requested by the immediate supervisor
• Responsible for replacing valve lids which appear unsafe or are missing with personnel and equipment to prevent claims against council
• Do backfilling at repair and construction sites with personnel and equipment to prevent claims against council
• Repair all fences and paving damage during routine maintenance
• Responsible for the planning of tasks and division of work for subordinates
• Responsible for in-services  training  of  general  workers  and  monitoring  of  performance  of employees, inspections

• Maintain discipline of subordinates in the water maintenance section, grievance procedures
• Update timesheets and overtime by hand attendance registers
• Responsible for own safety as well as that of subordinates according health safety act to prevent claims
• Report any unsafety actions or conditions in the counsel that he observe according health safety act to prevent claims
• Responsible for tidiness in work areas, vehicle and tools according to health safety act to prevent claim
