SALARY: R 179 100-R295 776 pa (Excluding Benefits)



POST  LEVEL:12/9 MINIMUM  REQUIREMENTS

Grade 12 plus Diploma Traffic or equivalent qualification. 1 Year relevant experience. Valid driver’s license. No Previous Conviction. Not older than 35 Years old.



KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:



  • Executing traffic patrols, visibility,moving violations and ensuring free flow of traffic.
  • Traffic control-point duties,to ensure the free follow of
  • Escort duties motor vehicle rendering a service and securing safety of the road users.
  • Speed checks by approval speed apparatus,to reduce accidents.
  • Crime prevention visible traffic policing to combat crime.
  • Law enforcement through issuing fines, (minimum of 8 fines per day) serving summonses and warrants in accordance with the National Road Traffic Act and Criminal procedures
  • Court proceedings physically appearing in court to testify as a state witness.
  • Stop sign violations with relevant equipment to conduct law
  • Attend accident scenes physically taking control, safeguard and prevent further accidents , to investigate and redirect traffic as well as ascertaining injuries.
  • Monitor road traffic markings or signs by reporting to the relevant section to ensure road



  • Alcohol test testing motorists with the approved equipment in order to combat drunken driving.
  • Parking violations issuing of fines to prevent obstruction of traffic and ensure free flow.
  • Carry out instructions by his/her superior.
  • To report any malfunctioning ,deficient and defective equipment immediately to his/her superior.
  • Commit him/her to a clean administration by acting actively combating any occurrence  of corruption in any form.
  • Execute all relevant tasks that is outlined in the Criminal Procedures Act 51177.
  • To act as Assistant Superintendent when required by the Head of
  • At all times be on stand-by.
  • To promote and ensure that all Batho Pele principles are adhere to
