<p><strong>The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is a joint organization of German universities for the promotion of international scientific cooperation and academic exchange. The DAAD relies on a network of Regional Offices, Information Centres and Information Points with coverage for more than 70 countries, approximately 408 Lectureships, 20 Centres of German and European Studies, a diverse range of DAAD-funded university projects abroad, ranging from individual courses to establishing new universities, and a pool of 430,000 alumni.</strong></p>

<p><strong>Brief Description </strong></p>
<p><strong>The DAAD Information Centre in Johannesburg is looking for a dedicated and versatile staff for student counselling, administration and program coordination in part-time (50%). The position is initially limited for a 12 month contract</strong></p>
<p> ;</p>
<p><strong>The tasks include:</strong></p>
<p><strong>• Advice on study and research opportunities in Germany as well as on the scholarship programs of the DAAD</strong></p>
<p><strong>• General office duties</strong></p>
<p><strong>• Planning and implementation of information events and fairs</strong></p>
<p><strong>• Preparation of publications and promotional materials</strong></p>
<p><strong>• Maintaining the website and the social media channels of the Information Centre</strong></p>
<p><strong>• Maintaining contacts with partner organizations and DAAD Alumni</strong></p>

<p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p>
<p><strong>• University degree (at least BA); studies or working experience in Germany is an advantage</strong></p>
<p><strong>• Excellent command of English (C2), good command of German (B2); please upload your certificates for German B1</strong></p>
<p><strong>• Good knowledge of the German higher education system</strong></p>
<p><strong>• Good skills in Microsoft Office</strong></p>
<p><strong>• Very good communication skills</strong></p>
<p><strong>• Organizational skills, intercultural competence, commitment and resilience</strong></p>
<p><strong>• Work experience in cultural and education sector is an advantage</strong></p>
<p><strong>• Work Permit for South Africa</strong></p>
<p><strong>Salary is based on the remuneration scheme of the University of the Witwatersrand. The working conditions are subject to South African law.</strong></p>
