<p><strong><span>PURPOSE OF THE POSITION </span></strong></p>
<p><span>To ensure residences are well maintained through proper cleaning, cost effective maintenance of residence building and acceptance hygiene and create conducive study environment and habitable space for residence students.</span></p>

<p><strong><span>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</span></strong></p>
<p><strong><span>Maintenance of equipment and buildings</span></strong></p>
<ul>
<li><span>Perform building inspections on daily basis, </span></li>
<li><span>Key requisition into computer, ensure that work is done to satisfaction.</span></li>
<li><span>Follow up on requisition where work was not done or poor work delivered.</span></li>
<li><span>Complete work not completed form and obtain answers. Check that work is done to satisfaction.</span></li>
<li><span>Complete documentation for payment by guilty party.</span></li>
<li><span>Hand relevant documentation to Residence Administration to be processed.</span></li>
<li><span>Manage budget in such a manner that all repairs fall within budget limit.</span></li>

<p><strong><span>Cleaning and Hygiene </span></strong></p>
<ul>
<li><span>Do hygiene inspections regularly. </span></li>
<li><span>Oversee and managed that work is done according to contract stipulations with the cleaning contractors.</span></li>
<li><span>Order and managed usable material</span></li>
</ul>
<p><strong><span>Occupational Health &; Safety</span></strong></p>
<ul>
<li><span>Become Safety Representatives for residence.</span></li>
<li><span>Give feedback at meeting on behalf of residence.</span></li>
<li><span>Report all OHS related incidents.</span></li>
<li><span>Plan and ensure evacuation procedures are in place and followed.</span></li>

<h5><b>Minimum requirements</b></h5>

<li>Grade 12 (NQF Level 4).</li>
<li>A valid driver’s license.</li>
<li>A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a university Residence environment.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>ADDED ADVANTAGES &; PREFERENCES:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A minimum of two (2) years’ hospitality experience.</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Computer skills.</li>
<li>Analytical skills.</li>
<li>Critical and problem-solving.</li>
