Minimum Requirements

Applicants who want to apply for the General Worker position must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Forklift Licence (only for forklift driver post)
• Ability to read and write
• Basic communication skills

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The General Worker will assist with various operational activities within the supply chain department.

Key responsibilities include:

Loading and Off-Loading Operations

• Load and off-load stock at customer receiving points
• Assist with loading and off-loading crates at delivery sites
• Ensure the correct stock is delivered to the correct customer by checking invoices

Crate Management

• Ensure production departments always have enough crates
• Separate clean crates from dirty crates
• Operate and monitor the crate washing machine
• Refill water levels in the washing machine when necessary
• Report any machine faults or equipment issues to the line manager

Warehouse and Transport Support

• Maintain clean truck loading bins and warehouse areas
• Ensure proper housekeeping standards are followed
• Report damaged crates and total crates washed per customer

Safety and Compliance

• Participate in company safety programmes
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• Wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas
• Report any food safety or quality issues to management immediately

Additional Duties

• Work shifts when required
• Assist with delivery vehicles when needed
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the department

Work Environment
