Requirements

Applicants should have:

• ABET Level 4 qualification may be considered

Previous experience as a Cleaner in a health facility or healthcare environment will be an advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

Successful candidates will perform general cleaning and hygiene duties in designated areas.

Responsibilities include cleaning windows, walls, basins, lockers, kitchens and bathrooms. Cleaners will also sweep, mop and polish floors and other designated areas.

Additional duties include:

• Damp and dry dusting
• Emptying dustbins
• Cleaning toilets and ablution facilities
• Replacing toilet paper, towels and hand soap
• Maintaining toilet-cleaning checklists
• Opening windows to support hygiene and infection-control procedures
• Removing and storing waste correctly
• Reporting safety hazards
• Maintaining cleaning equipment
• Safeguarding cleaning materials
• Reporting faulty cleaning equipment
• Following health, safety and hygiene procedures
