We’re training 150 000 Early Childhood Development (ECD) practitioners, Grade R & Foundation Phase educators across South Africa on play-based learning.

PLAY is a FREE in-service training course that complements existing and formal training. It is not intended to replace educational training but qualifies the participant for the 15 CPD credits as set out by the South African Council for Educators in terms of section 5(b) of the South African Council for Educators Act 31 of 2000.

You complete the training at your own pace and during times that work best for you. The course only requires 2 dedicated hours a week from you.

 

How the programme works:

The course starts immediately after you Register on this site. You will also have the opportunity to book for a support workshop if you experience any difficulties.

All of the training happens right here on this platform. You will be guided to complete a series of sessions for each of the course options. The courses are designed for practitioners, teachers, childminders, day mothers, playgroup facilitators or anyone who implements programmes for babies and young children in South Africa.

The course sessions include videos, images, reading, tasks, evaluation and reflection activities.

After every completed session, you will receive an email with more PLAY ideas and helpful resources.

Purpose of the job: The Officer: Legal Administration is accountable to process documentation relating to claims settlement as well as the effective coordination of processes and procedures that contribute to the efficient early settlement of claims dispute/s outside court proceedings.

Key Performance Areas

Legal Administration

Transcribe and proof-read legal documents for settlement discussions.

Collate all the directives and update on the case file database.

Retrieval of information at all times as requested in the office.

Administer process relating to the arbitration of disputes between parties.

Briefing experts for purposes of administering the claims.

Administer hearings sessions to ensure that all parties and present information or evidence relative to claims is obtained.

Ensure confidentiality of all documents under control and that documentation reaches the intended recipients.

Follow-up on outstanding matters on behalf of the Legal Administration department in the office.

Document the proceedings and follow up on the action log relation to the settlement of the claim’s discussion.

File all settlement agreements.

 

Block Settlements

Arrange meetings for block settlements.

Management of court documentation and filing.

Diarise and monitor court processes.

Narrate and provide clarity on the assessment and determination on the claims offer done

 

Reporting

Contribute to the preparation and submission of reports.

Report regularly and periodically perform necessary submissions as and when required to provide progress updates and/or inform management decisions.

 

Stakeholder Management

Aid in proactive and progressive relationships with key stakeholders.

Deal with inquiries and requests for information from both internal and external stakeholders.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in law or equivalent.

Experience

Relevant 3 years’ experience in a Legal Administration related environment.

Technical and behavioral competencies required

Dispute resolution, mediation and negotiating capabilities.

Legislation & Regulatory Knowledge including Personal Injury and Third-party compensation.

Knowledge of laws and legislation that are applicable to the organisation.

Knowledge of Civil proceedings in the Magistrate, Regional and High Courts of South Africa

Planning, Organising and Coordinating.

Personal Mastery.

Judgement and Decision Making.

Ethics and Values.

Client Service Orientation.

Following Standard Operating Procedures

Assist the driver in the loading and offloading of the product

Assist with the manoeuvering of the vehicle in the safest possible manner for delivery to customers,

Loading and off loading at customer

Securing loads and ensuring that the product is always properly secured in transit.

Assist the driver and report any damage to any property

Assist where possible with control of paperwork

Qualifications

Matric is essential

Code 10 or higher valid driver’s license with PDP will be an advantage

Excellent communication and organizational skills
